If you need to keep your eye on weather conditions in several or more places in your country or in the world, it may be convenient to have an easy access to actual detailed forecasts in Excel workbook. It's relatively easy to create Excel worksheet with access to forecasts for locations of your specific interest. Here is a fragment of such worksheet I've created for my personal use:
The QR codes refer to weather forecasts for locations shown underneath. You just click on selected QR square to display the forecast for the location. For example:
When you click on "Open Map" in box on the right, you will see a detailed map of the weather pattern (precipitations) in selected area:
Lots of other information can also be accessed from there.
If you want to create a similar worksheet for your selected locations you can follow these steps:
- Copy and paste the following link into the web page address field of your browser:
- It will display weather forecast page for London, England. In "Search for location" field enter the name of location you want to find and get the weather info. Click on the location in the list shown to display the forecast page for that location.
- Right-click on the page and select "Create QR code for this page".
- Click on "Download" in the "Scan QR code" window which appears.
- Click "Open file" in the "Downloads" window which appears at the top right.
- Right-click on displayed page and select "Copy" from the menu.
- Return to your Excel page and paste the QR code there; resize it as needed and give it a title (selected location).
- Right-click on the QR and select "Link".
- Go back to the web page displaying weather info, copy its address and paste into the "Address:" field of the displayed "Insert Hyperlink" window. Click OK. Clicking on the QR code will link you from now on to the weather info for your selected location.
Repeat this procedure for any other location you want to include into your World Weather worksheet.
